Some graphic design

Here's the cover of our youth group's Chick-Fil-A formal gospel presentation I designed:

And here's the text of the insides:

You’ve seen them - the signs and billboards decorated with cows wearing hoof-written placards that read, “Eat Mor Chikin.” Chick-Fil-A says that these buoyant bovines want to reform Americans’ eating habits. Sometimes, those cows go to extreme methods to share their message. In one ad, a cow lands on top of a mini-van and steals a family’s fast food bags. In another one, cows parachute onto a football field, one landing directly on a hamburger vendor. They would do anything to share their belief that people should eat more chicken.

Do you have a belief you’d be willing to go to any lengths to share? Well, we do.

The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. A lot of the time, society tells us that “sin” is something big, like murdering someone or stealing. However, James 2:10 tells us that it’s not that simple: “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.” Romans 6:23 goes on to say that the punishment for sin is death. Nothing we can do is enough – Isaiah 64:6 says that all our good deeds are like filthy rags – they’ll do nothing to save us in the end.

Our sin has placed a wall between us and God, as our sins are direct violations of His word. There is a way that the wall can be destroyed, however.

Hebrews 9:22 tells us that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Thankfully, God has provided a solution to this seemingly hopeless situation. Jesus Christ (who is God, as John 10:30 says) came to earth in the form of a baby. He lived a sinless life for 33 years, and then was crucified on a cross. However, He didn’t stay dead. Three days later, He rose from the grave, conquering sin and death. Jesus’ death wasn’t a simple death; when He died, he bore the sins of the world. 1 Peter 2:24 says, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness.”

Jesus’ death on the cross was a gift, but like all gifts, it must be accepted. So how do you do that?

First, you must understand that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, as John 14:6 says. It’s by God’s grace alone (Ephesians 2:8-9), nothing that we do. Next, Romans 10:9 tells us that we must confess with our mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead. Also, you must confess to God that you are a sinner and repent, or turn completely away from, your sin (Acts 3:19). Romans 10:13 tells us that when we call on the name of the Lord, we will be saved.
There is a price to following Christ. Luke 9:23 tells us we must give our lives to Christ completely when we follow Him. Also, verse 62 tells us that anyone who “puts his hand to the plow and looks back” is unworthy of following Him. It’s a serious decision that cannot be made rashly.

Have you made the commitment to give your life to Jesus Christ? Do you believe that He died on the cross to save you from your sins? Would you like to know more about becoming a Christian? Come talk to one of us – we’d love to discuss it with you.
